Video showcases Holiday Wreaths ceremony

The Holiday Wreaths stamp dedication ceremony is highlighted in a new Postal Service video.

The 1-minute video features comments from Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan and Michael Mahoney, chief legal and compliance officer for L.L. Bean, which hosted the Oct. 25 event at its flagship store in Freeport, ME.

“The wreath on the door may express the shared spirit of the holidays, of family, and goodwill to others,” Brennan says in the video. “And the wreath welcomes the visitor to the home. It says that the homeowner shares your same warm feelings toward the holiday season.”

The four wreaths shown on the stamps are inspired by the holiday decorating traditions of early America and feature materials easily found during the winter months, including pine cones, dried flowers and berries.

Other highlights in the video include comments from Laura Dowling, the stamp designer, and scenes of the stamp artwork unveiling and customers purchasing the stamps.
