‘Here Come the Holidays’

New resources to help manage stress

The “Here Come the Holidays” handouts are available on the Employee Assistance Program website, as well as the online Postal Communicator’s Toolbox.

The Postal Service has new resources to help employees manage their holiday experiences.

The USPS Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has created a series of 13 “Here Come the Holidays” informational sheets that each address a different topic, such as reducing stress, dealing with grief and maintaining energy levels.

“The holiday season is the busiest time of year for Postal Service employees. With all the hustle and bustle, the EAP wants to help employees stay focused and healthy all season long,” said EAP Administrator Deborah Atkins.

EAP will post the informational sheets on its website, EAP4YOU.com, throughout the season. Select “Monthly Focus” in the menu bar at the top of the home page, then scroll down to select individual topics like “Find Balance,” “Stress Less” and “Be Mindful.”

Each sheet can be downloaded and printed for reference. Additionally, the sheets will be available on the Postal Communicator’s Toolbox, a Blue page that offers communication materials for employees, under the “2019 Holiday Information” heading.

EAP is voluntary, confidential and free. Services are available year-round through the EAP site, online apps, in person or by calling 800-327-4968 (TTY: 877-492-7341).

“The EAP is available every hour, every day — even on holidays,” said Atkins. “Contact the EAP if you need help. Our USPS EAP is there for all of us and our families.”
