Sustainability excellence. The Postal Service is still seeking nominations for the 2019 Postmaster General Sustainability Excellence Awards.
The annual awards recognize areas, districts, facilities, teams and individuals who help foster sustainable workplaces.
A recent call to action asks nominators to share stories from fiscal year 2019 (Oct. 1, 2018-Sept. 30, 2019) that “demonstrate innovation, leadership and measurable impact on sustainability and environmental goals.”
The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, Feb. 3.
The Sustainability Blue page has the call for nominations, as well as a list of recipients from previous years.
Wanted: EMVPs. USPS is seeking nominations for Engagement Most Valuable Player, a program that recognizes bargaining unit employees who have positive attitudes and who go the extra mile in their work.
Only bargaining unit employees can nominate other bargaining unit employees for the program. Nominations opened last fall and will be accepted through Sunday, Jan. 12.
More than 2,000 nominations have been received so far.

Time’s running out. The current Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is scheduled to end Jan. 12.
The CFC allows federal employees, retirees and contractors to contribute to more than 7,000 charitable organizations.
The Postal Service’s contribution goal is $8.3 million. During the previous CFC cycle, postal employees surpassed the organization’s goal by 20 percent.
You can submit a paper pledge form to a CFC volunteer or use the CFC online giving portal to pledge your money or volunteer hours to support the causes that matter to you.
