The Postal Service is reminding facility managers that they must compile and display work-related injuries that occurred during the 2019 calendar year in order to comply with OSHA requirements.
OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, requires postal facilities to complete manual or automated versions of OSHA Form 300A, Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses.
The requirement is in accordance with the Employee and Labor Relations Manual, part 821, Actions in the Event of Accident, Injury, or Illness.
Postal facility managers must ensure data on OSHA Form 300A has corresponding entries on the OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses.
After reviewing the related OSHA 300 log and the OSHA 300A summary reports, managers must sign OSHA Form 300A, affirming accuracy and completeness of the entries.
Postal facilities are required to post a copy of the completed OSHA Form 300A for calendar year 2019 in a location visible to all employees from Feb. 1-April 30.
