Postal Inspector Andrea Avery appears in the new “COVID Scams” public service announcement.

The Postal Inspection Service has released a video in response to the growing number of scams involving the coronavirus pandemic.

The public service announcement, titled “COVID Scams,” warns consumers to be on alert as scammers attempt to use the pandemic to steal money and personal information.

Postal Inspector Andrea Avery appears in the video and highlights common ways thieves are targeting victims, such as offering to expedite coronavirus stimulus checks and claiming to have a vaccine for the virus.

“Stay informed by getting information from trusted, reputable health authorities,” Avery says.

The public service announcement is available on the Inspection Service website’s coronavirus page, as well as the agency’s YouTube and other social media channels.
