The Postal Service has canceled the dedication ceremony for the Voices of the Harlem Renaissance stamps, originally scheduled for May 21 in New York City.
The organization is following social distancing guidance to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The Voices of the Harlem Renaissance stamps will still be available for purchase at Post Offices and usps.com, beginning May 21.
The pane of 20 stamps will showcase stylized pastel portraits of four literary figures: writer, philosopher, educator and arts advocate Alain Locke; novelist Nella Larsen; bibliophile and historian Arturo Alfonso Schomburg; and poet Anne Spencer.
The coronavirus pandemic has prompted the cancellation of other stamp events this year, as well as the National Postal Forum.
Additionally, the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive, scheduled for May 9, has been postponed.
