The past several days have been very difficult for a nation already wrestling with the coronavirus pandemic. The recent and tragic events out of Minneapolis have given rise to large protests throughout the country in which, as is their right, many citizens are voicing heartfelt concerns on issues of race and equal treatment under the law.
Peaceful protest is the right of every citizen and the nation has evolved and thrived when citizens have voiced their concerns in unison. Regrettably, however, in some instances, the recent protests have turned violent and unsafe, causing damage to both people and property. In that regard, please know that your safety and well-being remain our highest priority.
We know that our ability to deliver in some communities has been disrupted and we continue to actively monitor and evaluate conditions throughout the country. We are directing that all efforts be taken to protect our employees from the risk of violence. While we are committed to fulfilling our role of providing an essential service to America’s communities, all employees are encouraged to take all necessary steps to ensure their own safety.
Our organization continues to stand firmly against racism, injustice and violence. We honor and cherish our diversity as an organization, and we will continue to support each other during these difficult times.
