The Postal Service will release stamps this year that celebrate the American spirit of innovation.
The Innovation stamps will feature five designs, each representing an area where U.S. scientists and engineers have made significant contributions: computing, biomedicine, genome sequencing, robotics and solar technology.
Antonio Alcalá, a USPS art director, designed the Forever stamps, choosing a detail of an existing photograph for each.
The Postal Service announced the stamps this week.
Additional details, including the date that the 20-stamp pane will be available, will be announced soon. All images are subject to change prior to printing.
