Fly flags at half-staff to honor Ginsburg

U.S. flag flying at half-staff
To honor the late Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, USPS facilities should fly flags at half-staff until the day of interment.

President Donald Trump has ordered U.S. flags flown at half-staff to honor Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died Sept. 18.

Flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day of interment. This date has not been announced.

To fly the flag at half-staff, hoist the flag to the peak for an instant and then lower it to the half-staff position. The flag should be raised to the peak again before it’s lowered for the day.

For additional information, refer to the Postal Service’s guidelines on U.S. flag display and maintenance.
