Peak season to peak this week

USPS expects mailing, shipping and delivery activities to increase from Dec. 14-21.

It’s here.

The Postal Service expects the Dec. 14-21 period to be the holiday season’s busiest for mailing, shipping and deliveries.

While significant volume increases are expected, precise predictions are difficult due to the coronavirus pandemic. Analysts have forecasted major increases in online shopping this year — the Adobe Analytics research firm predicts online holiday sales will rise 33 percent compared with 2019 — and most of these purchases are expected to be shipped.

In a news release this week, USPS reminded customers that products and services such as Click-N-Ship, Package Pickup and free Priority Mail boxes allow them to take care of their mailing and shipping needs at home.

Additionally, the organization is encouraging customers to watch several “how to” shipping tips videos on YouTube and to refer to the USPS Holiday Newsroom website for domestic, international and military mailing and shipping deadlines.
