A retail associate’s talk with a customer in the lobby at the Irving, TX, Post Office has resulted in $27,000 in estimated annualized revenue for the Postal Service.
The customer, a local landscaping company owner, was looking for low-cost direct advertising.
Brittany Johnson, the retail associate, submitted a lead through the Clerks Care program.
Jenny Yoo, a business development specialist in Dallas District, followed up with the customer. Working with the field sales team, she closed a deal worth more than $27,000 in estimated annualized revenue.
“Thanks to Brittany’s goodwill and appreciation for her customers, she was able to recognize an opportunity to help her customer and get them into the right hands,” said Mary Anderson, small-business engagement director at USPS headquarters.
Sales generated from Clerks Care leads count toward the USPS Power of One campaign to raise revenue through sales leads from employees.
The Small Business and Lead Generation Programs Blue page is tracking participation in Clerks Care and other employee lead programs: Customer Connect, Mail Handlers, Business Connect, Rural Reach and Submit a Lead.
The Postal Service is encouraging as many employees as possible to submit at least one lead through any of its six lead programs by Sept. 30.
