Retirement webinar

Session to highlight Thrift Savings Plan

The Oct. 5 session will address a variety of topics for TSP participants, including tips for selecting a financial professional.

An upcoming webinar will inform Postal Service employees about Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) accounts and how they fit into an overall retirement plan.

The session, “Your TSP Account: What to Think About When Nearing Retirement or Considering Leaving the Government,” will be held Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. EDT.

Registration is not required for the session, which will remain available on the webinar website after it ends.

Co-sponsored by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, the session will cover TSP distribution options, withdrawals and rollouts.

Participants will also learn about investment risks and fees, common investment frauds, tips for selecting a financial professional and questions to ask when moving funds from TSP accounts.

The session, which will take place during World Investor Week, is open to all federal employees and members of the uniformed services who may be considering retiring or leaving federal service.

Participation is voluntary. Nonexempt USPS employees may only participate off the clock or during authorized breaks.
