The Postal Service’s USPS Connect Local expansion continues apace, with Virginia and North Carolina the latest states to offer the organization’s new commercial package delivery program in targeted areas.
USPS Connect Local, which began a national rollout in February, offers businesses affordable next-day delivery, as well as same-day delivery, Sunday delivery and pickup options in select locations.
Ribbon-cuttings were held earlier this month at the main Post Offices in Woodbridge, VA, and Charlotte, NC, to celebrate the rollouts.
A 3,000-piece mailing spread the word about the Woodbridge ribbon-cutting, and a Grow Your Business Day event was held directly afterward to capitalize on the gathering.
“We’ve listened carefully to our business customers to develop this program,” Virginia District Manager Gerald Roane told attendees.
“We’re giving smaller businesses big-business rates and all businesses more user-friendly ways to interact with us,” said Roane, who was accompanied by Woodbridge Postmaster Corey Poland.
In Charlotte, Postmaster Justin Henderson and North Carolina District Manager Russell Gardner did the ribbon-cutting honors.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy and the heart of Main Street,” Henderson told attendees. “USPS Connect is designed to help small businesses reach local customers faster than ever.”
