Allergy season

FSAs cover over-the-counter expenses

If you suffer from allergies, you can use a flexible spending account to cover eligible expenses.

During allergy season, Postal Service employees can use their flexible spending account to cover eligible over-the-counter expenses.

These include medicine, anti-itch creams, saline sprays and multisymptom eye drops.

Many allergy drugs don’t require a doctor’s prescription, making it easier for employees to use their FSAFEDS account on important medical purchases. The FSAFEDS website has a list of eligible expenses.

Employees who have questions should go to the FSAFEDS website or call 877-372-3337 to speak to a benefits counselor, weekdays from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Eastern. The TTY number is 866-353-8058.
