Zoom chat feature replacing Skype for Business

Zoom Team Chat is replacing Skype for Business on ACE workstations.

Postal Service employees and contractors with ACE workstations will no longer be able to use Skype for Business after Jan. 31.

The organization is replacing Skype for Business with Zoom Team Chat, which is a similar instant messaging application.

Zoom is installed on all USPS ACE workstations and the Team Chat feature will be enabled in mid-January.

Zoom Team Chat allows users to easily switch from chat messaging to an instant Zoom meeting.

The application also provides users with real-time one-on-one and group conversations.

Other features include persistent chat, which preserves chat histories; starred contacts, which is a list of user favorites; message archiving; customizable public or private channels; and more.

A Zoom Team Chat user guide and instructional videos are available on the IT Self Help/ServiceNow portal.
