Puppy, kitten star on new Love stamps

This year’s Love stamps show a puppy and a kitten, each resting their front paws on a big red heart.

The Postal Service will release the latest in its popular Love series of stamps on Jan. 19.

The stamps come in two designs on a pane of 20 — a puppy and a kitten — each resting their front paws on a big red heart.

The sweet, uncomplicated love of pets for their people comes through in the innocent images, which are reminiscent of retro valentines.

Artist Chris Buzelli used oil on wood panel to paint the pair, then scanned and digitally edited the images. Ethel Kessler, an art director for USPS, designed the stamps.

These newest additions to the Love series will be available at Post Offices and usps.com.
