Service helps small businesses

Alexandria, VA, Letter Carrier Quyen Ngo picks up Priority Mail packages from a small-business customer in 2017.

Small businesses have big needs — especially when it comes to shipping products to their customers.

This is why USPS offers Click-N-Ship, a service that allows small-business owners and others to create prepaid Priority Mail labels on ordinary printing paper.

This might sound like a small thing, but it’s important to customers who often don’t have time to come to a Post Office and wait for a retail associate to create the label for them.

Make no mistake: Customers appreciate this service. They created 36 million Click-N-Ship labels during fiscal 2019 (Oct. 1, 2018-Sept. 30, 2019), generating $452 million in revenue for the Postal Service.

In addition to being convenient, every Click-N-Ship label contains a confirmation number that the customer can use to track the date and time of the delivery or attempted delivery.

Other than the cost of postage, there is no fee to create labels for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail International, Priority Mail Express International and Global Express Guaranteed if the sender uses USPS Flat Rate envelopes or boxes.

Additionally, customers can order free Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes for Click-N-Ship shipments, and $50 of insurance comes free with most Priority Mail shipments, although you can add more, along with delivery instructions and Extra Services.

Millions of small-business customers rely on the Postal Service for their mailing and shipping needs. For many of these customers, Click-N-Ship is the primary reason they turn to USPS — making the service an important part of the organization’s effort to become the shipper of choice for the nation’s small businesses.
