Calm in crisis

Letter Carrier Robert Johnson was recently delivering mail in a Burlington, IA, neighborhood when a crisis erupted: A man screaming he’d been shot ran toward him for help.

The Postal Service employee called 911, looked out for any immediate safety threats and monitored the condition of the victim — who was bleeding profusely from a head wound.

Paramedics soon arrived and took the man to a hospital.

He is recovering from the incident.
