Cullowhee, NC, Highway Contract Route Driver Clyde Bryson was delivering mail on a bitterly cold day when he heard a woman calling for help. He found her on the ground outside the house. She had crawled there after falling into a nearby creek. Bryson ran indoors to get the woman’s husband and blankets. They called 911 and cared for her until help arrived. She was taken to a hospital and treated for a collapsed lung.
