Denver Letter Carrier David Linscott

Letter Carrier David Linscott was delivering mail during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Denver when he spotted a man collapsed on a sidewalk.

Linscott recognized the man — who appeared to be having a seizure — as a security guard he’d chatted with earlier.

The Postal Service employee immediately called 911 and rendered first aid, using his satchel to protect the guard’s head from striking concrete.

Paramedics soon arrived to evaluate the man’s condition.

Employees featured in “Heroes’ Corner” also receive letters of commendation through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program. The nomination form is available on Blue.
