Jeffersonville, GA, Rural Carrier Terry Curry

Terry Curry, a rural carrier in Jeffersonville, GA, was recently delivering mail when she came upon an older customer walking along a dirt road on a day with triple-digit temperatures.

Curry stopped to check on the woman, who said she was on her way to her son’s home but didn’t feel well and didn’t think she could make it.

The Postal Service employee knew that the customer’s grandson lived nearby, so she rushed there to alert him of the situation.

He said his grandmother has dementia and shouldn’t be outside alone.

“He went down there, took her back to her house and thanked Terry for her kind help,” said Jeffersonville Postmaster Derrell Holt. “There is no telling what may have happened to her without it.”
