Doing unto others

Jennings, LA, Carrier Technician Charles Drake

Carrier Technician Charles Drake was recently delivering mail in a Jennings, LA, neighborhood when he heard screams for help coming from the home of an older couple.

Drake rushed to the front door, where he found a customer in distress.

The man’s wife had fallen in the bathtub and he was unable to assist her, leaving the couple desperate for a helping hand.

Drake immediately rendered aid, safely sitting the woman upright and calling 911.

Emergency responders soon arrived to get her out of the tub, and she recovered from the incident.

“I was just doing my job. We all help each other whenever we can,” Drake said later. “We are all going to get old one day. I have an elderly mother and I would hope someone would do the same to help her, too.”
