Driveway danger

Letter Carrier Danny Smith was recently delivering mail in a Lafayette, TN, neighborhood when he heard someone yelling for help.

Smith soon spotted a 94-year-old customer who’d fallen in her driveway, sustaining multiple cuts and abrasions, including a head wound.

The Postal Service employee rushed to the woman’s side, called 911 and comforted her until emergency responders arrived.

The customer is recovering from the incident.

Employees featured in “Heroes’ Corner” also receive letters of commendation through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program. The nomination form is available on Blue.
