Smiling man in postal uniform

Letter Carrier Garrett Rhodes was recently delivering mail in Grand Rapids, MI, when a 12-year-old boy crossing the street at an intersection was struck by an oncoming car.

While 911 was called, Rhodes and another passerby — a nurse — stopped to help the child.

They rendered first aid until emergency responders arrived.

Paramedics took the boy to a hospital, and he is recovering from the incident.
