Phoenix Letter Carrier Irma Gonzales-Trante was delivering mail recently when she encountered a woman who was carrying a child who had stopped breathing.
Gonzales-Trante performed CPR and revived the child, who was later taken to a hospital and placed in an intensive care unit.
The child has recovered and is now home.
“Without our carrier’s quick action and her knowledge of how to perform CPR, there might have been a different outcome,” said Customer Services Manager Cathy Hernandez.
