Campbell, OH, retail associates Jeniene Perez and Sabrina Williams recently became concerned by an older customer’s pattern of Priority Mail Express shipments to an address in New York City.

The man, they suspected, was being scammed.

The attentive duo alerted local Postmaster John Dickey, who contacted the Postal Inspection Service for guidance.

When the customer soon returned to mail another shipment, it was routed to postal inspectors, who determined that the man had been lured into a fraudulent sweepstakes promising a multi-million-dollar payout and a car.

Cash payments totaling $5,000 were eventually returned to the customer.
