Lending a hand

Letter Carrier Brodie Dopler was delivering mail one day last summer in a Burlington, IA, neighborhood when he heard someone yelling for help.

Dopler soon spotted an older customer who had fallen and broken her wrist, leaving her stranded on hot pavement for over an hour.

The Postal Service employee immediately called 911 and comforted the woman until paramedics arrived.

The customer recovered from the incident.

Employees featured in “Heroes’ Corner” also receive letters of commendation through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program. The nomination form is available on Blue.
