Letter carriers delivering mail in Texas and Florida recently came to the aid of customers who needed help after falling.

Miguel Leal Jr. assisted a 92-year-old woman who had fallen in her front yard in Pampa, TX. She had been unable to get anyone’s attention before Leal came by. The customer’s son later wrote to the local Postmaster to thank Leal and commend him for averting a worse outcome.

On a hot day in Arcadia, FL, Adam Martin discovered a man stranded in a driveway after falling out of a wheelchair. Martin contacted the customer’s wife and comforted him until she arrived. He then helped the woman get her husband into the wheelchair and made sure they got inside safely.

Shanalee Bernal saw a man lying on the floor of his Tulia, TX, apartment. The customer told her he needed medical attention. Bernal called 911 and stayed on the scene until emergency responders arrived. She also checked on the man after work.
