Nick of time

Lexington, MO, Letter Carrier Clint Wood

Letter Carrier Clint Wood was recently making deliveries in a Lexington, MO, neighborhood when he grew concerned about an older customer whose mail was piling up.

Wood alerted local Postmaster Lindsey Ashby, who immediately realized he was talking about her grandfather.

Ashby rushed to the scene to check on the man, whom she found in dire need of medical attention after falling several days earlier.

Ashby called 911, and paramedics soon arrived to take her grandfather to a hospital, where he spent a week before being transferred to a physical rehabilitation center.

“Had Clint gone on with his daily routine, the situation would have soon turned deadly,” Ashby said. “Many thanks to him for his heroic actions.”
