Letter Carrier Only Espinoza was delivering mail recently in Corpus Christi, TX, when she spotted a customer in serious trouble: The man, who had been doing yardwork with a weed trimmer, was under attack by a swarm of bees.
As he tried to flee, the bees also stung his two dogs, as well as his wife, who came outside to help him.
Espinoza called 911 and stayed on the scene until emergency responders arrived.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
His wife later told Espinoza that thousands of bees had to be professionally removed, and she thanked the Postal Service employee for responding quickly to the life-threatening situation.
