Reassuring presence

Letter Carrier Benjamin Stadler was recently delivering mail to an apartment building in St. Louis Park, MN, when he heard a customer yelling for help.

Stadler found the disabled man in his kitchen, where he’d gotten sick and needed assistance to get to his living room.

The Postal Service employee reassured the distressed customer and led him to safety.

According to local Customer Services Supervisor Chad Stephan, the man later called the Post Office to express “overwhelming thankfulness” for a carrier willing to brave an unpleasant situation.

“He believed he would have been trapped in the kitchen indefinitely, and Ben made a difference for him that day,” Stephan said.
