Salvador saves the day

Letter Carrier Glenn Salvador was recently delivering mail in Bensalem, PA, when he came upon a customer who was in a tight spot.

The man, a 70-year-old cancer patient, had taken a tumble outside his home, getting his head and shoulders stuck between his front steps and deck.

When Salvador arrived, he safely freed the customer and helped him get inside.

The man later mailed a letter to the local Post Office, detailing his ordeal.

“I laid there for a long time and just gave up,” he wrote. “Glenn made me believe that there is still good in some people.”

Employees featured in “Heroes’ Corner” also receive letters of commendation through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program. The nomination form is available on Blue.
