Slippery hope

Blacklick, OH, Rural Carrier Parris Hampton

Rural Carrier Parris Hampton was delivering mail one day in February in Blacklick, OH, when he came upon a customer who had fallen on ice.

The woman, whose daughter was with her, couldn’t get up on her own, and her daughter was unable to lift her.

Hampton stopped to aid the pair, safely getting the woman upright.

The customer, who did not require medical attention, said many drivers had passed by without offering assistance, and she thanked Hampton for helping her at a moment of desperation.
