Speaking of leaking

Waterloo, IA, City Carrier Assistant Candis Wolff

City Carrier Assistant Candis Wolff was recently delivering mail in a Waterloo, IA, neighborhood when she grew concerned about a strong odor of leaking gas at a residence.

Wolff knocked on the front door and got no response, so she immediately called local Customer Services Supervisor Tyler Eliason.

He notified the gas company, and utility workers soon discovered and repaired a significant leak that created a high risk for an explosion.

The home was evacuated as the incident unfolded.

“Candis has an incredibly positive attitude and sense of determination,” Eliason said. “Those who know her aren’t surprised when they hear about her stepping up for those around her.”
