Postal Service employees in New Jersey and Pennsylvania were there for customers at crucial moments recently.

Eatontown, NJ, Carrier Technician William Rubero Jr. was delivering mail when he encountered a man who had collapsed on the walkway outside his home. Rubero stayed with him until he came to and helped him up. The customer later called the Post Office to commend Rubero, “which made our entire team proud of his actions,” Customer Services Supervisor Tushar Patel said.

In Plymouth, PA, Rural Carrier Associate Christopher Wrubel was delivering mail when he saw a customer stranded outside after falling on an icy driveway. He helped the woman stand up and guided her safely home.

Another employee in Plymouth, Rural Carrier Jenna Piatt, became concerned by an accumulation of mail in a customer’s mailbox. She knew that the man was older and in poor health, so she alerted a neighbor. Piatt later learned that the customer had become acutely ill and needed to be taken to a doctor.
