Here’s a look at Postal Service employees who received appointments or recognition recently:

• Edward F. Houston was named sortation systems technology manager in Merrifield, VA. He previously served as automated guided vehicles and robotics center of excellence manager.

• Karla A. Kirby, benefits program manager at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC, was named acting benefits and wellness director.

• Michael J. McInturf was named retail and health care accounts director in Carol Stream, IL. He previously served as Central Area’s customer relations director. Stan M. Franke, Wisconsin District’s customer relations manager, was named Central Area’s acting customer relations director.

• Sherilyn S. Simmons, a Brooklyn, NY, consumer affairs manager, received a Chief FOIA Officer’s Award for her efforts to help USPS respond to Freedom of Information Act requests.
