Independence, OH, Letter Carrier Mark McDonald recently noticed that a couple on his route hadn’t picked up their mail for several days.
McDonald asked a police officer to check in on the couple.
The officer discovered the husband was unconscious on a sofa in the living room. The wife had fallen on the bathroom floor and was unable to call for help.
The husband was taken to a hospital, where he died. His wife is recovering.
The officer commended McDonald for his actions.
