USPS retirement team rated highly

USPS has a 96 percent accurate rating in handling retirement applications, according to new research.

The Postal Service’s retirement team is the best-rated in the federal government, new research shows.

The team has a 96 percent accuracy rate in evaluating, processing and finalizing retirement applications, according to a recent audit by the Office of Personnel Management.

The government-wide average is 89.7 percent.

The Postal Service’s high score means that retiring USPS employees are entered into interim pay sooner and retirement cases are submitted for final adjudication faster than ever.

Since 2013, the Postal Service has improved its retirement accuracy score by 18 percent.

In addition to retirement processing, the HR Shared Service Center and Eagan retirement teams also provide annuity estimates, process military buy back applications and answer employee inquiries.

“Every member of the team is dedicated to processing each retirement case accurately and in a timely manner,” said Benefits Program Manager Al Woods. “They’re committed to customer service and always work together to get the job done.”
