Employees urged to learn financial numbers

Someone's hands bracketing some cash.
USPS encourages employees to review their finances during Financial Literacy Month.

To mark Financial Literacy Month in April, the Postal Service encourages employees to understand their current financial status.

Do any these statements describe your situation?

  • Because of my finances, I feel like I will never have the things I want in life.
  • I am just getting by financially.
  • I am concerned the money I have or will save won’t last.

If so, experts advise you to take a closer look at your finances. A good starting point is to review your credit score, as well as your emergency and retirement savings.

Assessing this information — including the actual value of your retirement savings compared to what’s recommended — can help you determine where you might want to focus your financial goals.

The LiteBlue Financial Wellness page has more resources. The Postal Service is also hosting webinars throughout April that focus on understanding your financial status and setting a goal.
