The Postal Service is holding more than 500 events across the nation this week to show small-business owners how they can use the mail to attract customers and boost sales.
The events are part of National Small Business Week, an annual campaign organized by the Small Business Administration to highlight the economic contributions of entrepreneurs.
“No business is too small to benefit from USPS,” said Sales VP Cliff Rucker. “We offer numerous services to assist with marketing efforts, new and exciting mailing innovations for advertising, and products that help small businesses ship with confidence.”
Post Offices are holding workshops, seminars and other activities to highlight products such as Every Door Direct Mail, which allows businesses to target consumers based on their location and other demographics.
USPS also sponsored a small-business conference May 5 in Washington, DC. The daylong forum featured guest speakers and networking opportunities.
Additionally, the Postal Service is highlighting its online shipping kits for small businesses this week.
“USPS is proud to support and encourage entrepreneurs because we recognize the importance of the jobs they help create and the culture they instill in local communities,” Rucker said.
