The Star Trek stamps will be released Friday, Sept. 2, the Postal Service announced this week.
USPS will dedicate the stamps in New York City at Star Trek: Missions, a three-day celebration that is expected to draw thousands of fans.
The stamps will be available for pre-order during the first week of August at usps.com. Fans are encouraged to share the news on social media using the hashtag #StarTrekForever.
The stamps feature four digital illustrations inspired by the original “Star Trek” TV series, which debuted Sept. 8, 1966.
Heads of State, a Philadelphia firm, designed the stamps, which have received widespread praise from fans and the news media.
