The stamp was dedicated Jan. 27 at the Southeastern Stamp Expo in Norcross, GA.
“The flag serves as a beacon of hope, liberty and opportunity in our great nation and all across the world,” says Chief Human Resources Officer Jeffrey Williamson, who led the ceremony.
Retired Brig. Gen. Mitchell Zais, president of the American Philatelic Society, praises the flag’s connection to the nation’s history.
“Its history is the story of America itself” Zais says.
The stamps are available at Post Offices and usps.com.
