USPS is recognizing Celebrate Diversity Month throughout April.

Celebrate Diversity Month, which began in 2004 to recognize and honor the nation’s diversity, is held each April. The purpose is to help individuals from all walks of life gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other.

Postal Service facilities across the nation are holding activities throughout the month. Several facilities will mark Multicultural Awareness Day April 5 with events that allow employees to learn about different cultures through food, clothing, music, languages and more.

“The Postal Service is committed to fostering diversity throughout our organization — in every function and at every level,” said PMG Megan J. Brennan. “This is a business imperative because it demonstrates to our employees that they are valued and appreciated, and that makes us stronger, not only as individuals but as an organization.”

Managers who are interested in hosting Celebrate Diversity Month activities should email Diversity and Talent Acquisition. The Multicultural Awareness Day kit on Blue has additional information and resources.
