Video shows Protect Pollinators stamps

'Protect Pollinators'
The Postal Service has released a brief video with highlights from the recent Protect Pollinators stamp dedication ceremony.

A new video offers a quick glimpse of the recent Protect Pollinators stamp dedication ceremony.

The video shows USPS leaders and other speakers discussing the importance of western honeybees and monarch butterflies, the two pollinators featured on the stamps.

“Pollinators produce one-third of the world’s food crops,” USPS Judicial Officer Gary Shapiro says. “Without them, there would be no almonds, apples, blueberries, cucumbers, melons, chocolate and coffee.”

The 1-minute, 27-second video also features clips from other speeches delivered at the ceremony, which was held this month in Richmond, VA.

The other speakers include Mitchell Zais, president of the American Philatelic Society, and Charles Traxler, an assistant regional director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
