USPS will continue to focus on the customer experience, including providing efficient, reliable service; service performance; innovation; and other business strategies in 2018.

“In the coming year, we can look forward to continued momentum in launching new products and services, improving the experience of our customers, and elevating our service performance,” PMG Megan J. Brennan wrote in her recent year-end message to employees.

Here are some of the major activities slated this year:

• January price changes. Several price changes will take effect Jan. 21. The changes will raise Mailing Services product prices approximately 1.9 percent, while most Shipping Services products will average a 3.9 percent price increase.

• New stamps. This year’s first stamp, Year of the Dog, the latest entry in the Celebrating Lunar New Year series, will be released Jan. 11. Other 2018 stamps will honor Lena Horne, John Lennon and Sally Ride.

• Products and services. USPS will continue to promote products, services and digital offerings like Informed Delivery, a free feature that allows users to view incoming mail, track packages and schedule deliveries.

• Industry events. The National Postal Forum, the mailing industry’s largest meeting, will be held from May 6-9 in San Antonio. This year’s National Postal Customer Council (PCC) Week, an annual event that brings together postal leaders and business customers at meetings across the nation, will be held from Sept. 24-28.

Additionally, the Postal Service will continue to participate in community initiatives like National Dog Bite Prevention Week, which is expected to be held in April this year, and the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, which the National Association of Letter Carriers will hold May 12.
