USPS recently recognized several Post Offices and other facilities that participated in a competition to promote Informed Delivery.
The competition was part of Inform 5, an initiative to encourage all employees to tell at least five customers each day about Informed Delivery. Inform 5 is part of the Postal Service’s broader efforts to reach 40 million Informed Delivery users by 2020.
Before Inform 5 expanded nationwide this year, Post Offices, stations and other facilities in Providence, RI, and San Antonio competed within their districts to see who could produce the biggest increases in user enrollment. The offices were divided into large, medium and small categories, based on each facility’s size.
Here are the winning offices in each city, along with the number of new customers enrolled:
- Large offices: Heritage Post Office, San Antonio, 6,572 customers; Warwick Post Office, Providence, 1,503 customers
- Medium offices: Leon Valley Post Office, San Antonio, 2,751 customers; North Station, Providence, 628 customers
- Small offices: Northeast Carrier Annex, San Antonio, 1,887 customers; Cranston Post Office, Providence, 239 customers
Informed Delivery allows users to digitally preview their incoming mail and manage their packages from computers, tablets and mobile devices.
The free feature, which has more than 13 million subscribers, is part of the Postal Service’s growth strategy. Increasing the number of Informed Delivery subscribers will encourage more businesses to add interactive content to Informed Delivery emails, thereby boosting postal revenue and the value of mail.
