Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending April 12, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.71 percent during the week ending April 12, up from one week earlier.

Western (97.96 percent) led the areas, while Dakotas (99.04 percent) topped the districts.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail, and it helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

To see the latest results, go to the Informed Visibility site and select “Customer Experience,” followed by “DES 2 Scan Performance.” Employees must request access to Informed Visibility through eAccess.

Philatelic appointment. Daniel J. Ryterband has been appointed to the National Postal Museum’s Council of Philatelists, a panel that advises the Washington, DC-based museum on stamp programs and collections, fundraising and more.

Ryterband, an executive compensation and corporate governance consultant, will serve a three-year term.

Happy Earth Day. The Postal Bulletin’s April 11 issue features an Earth Day-timed report on the Postal Service’s sustainability efforts. The publication also features the latest updates to policies, procedures and forms.
