A Gallup survey released this week ranks the Postal Service first among 13 government agencies in delivering “excellent” or “good” customer service.

Nearly 3 in 4 Americans say the Postal Service is their favorite federal agency, according to a Gallup poll released this week.

USPS ranks first among 13 agencies measured in the survey, with 74 percent saying the organization does an “excellent” or “good” job. The Postal Service also ranked first in all prior years this survey was conducted, including 2014, 2017 and 2018.

“I thank our employees for providing our customers with prompt, reliable and efficient mailing and shipping services. The results of this poll reflect the pride and dedication that our employees provide, each and every day,” said Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan.

Improving customers’ experiences is one of the Postal Service’s core strategies. To help meet this objective, the organization has improved customer service training and introduced tools such as Informed Delivery, a free feature that allows consumers to preview their incoming mail on smartphones, tablets and other devices.

Other agencies that earned positive ratings from a majority of respondents in Gallup’s latest poll include the Secret Service, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the CIA and NASA.

Gallup conducted the poll from April 17-30.
