The Postal Service is making changes within its Operations structure to better serve the organization and its customers.
Under the changes, which Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan announced Aug. 22, the Network Operations group will be divided into two organizations: Logistics, and Processing and Maintenance Operations.
Robert Cintron will serve as logistics vice president. He will oversee Surface Logistics, Air Logistics, International Logistics, Systems Integration Support, Logistics Modeling and Analytics, and the National Operations Control Center at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC.
“Combining these functions under one vice president will elevate our logistics capabilities and centralize research, modeling, and analytics for surface and air, to improve logistics planning and execution,” Brennan wrote in a memo announcing Cintron’s appointment.
Cintron, a 34-year postal veteran, previously served as network operations vice president. Other assignments have included enterprise analytics vice president, Western Pennsylvania District manager and plant manager at facilities in Connecticut and New York.
Joshua Colin will serve as processing and maintenance vice president on an acting basis. He will oversee Processing Operations, Maintenance Operations, Operations Integration and Support, and International Processing Operations.
Colin, the Eastern Area vice president, previously served as Eastern Area operations support manager and South Jersey District manager, among other assignments.
“A 33-year postal veteran with extensive experience in both operations and customer service, Josh has led the Eastern Area to increasing levels of service performance using data analytics and insights,” Brennan wrote.
Additionally, responsibility for material handling technology development and acquisition formerly under Network Operations will move to Engineering Systems.
