New award to honor engaging groups

The Engagement Cross-Functional Team Award will be given to groups that help foster engaging postal workplaces.

The Postal Service has introduced an award to honor outstanding teamwork within the organization.

The Engagement Cross-Functional Team Award will be given to groups that help foster engaging postal workplaces.

Employee engagement is generally defined as being involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to your work. The Employee Engagement LiteBlue page has a detailed explanation that is based on 12 principles.

To be eligible for the award, teams must meet several criteria, including using the principles of engagement, having representatives from five or more departments, having a work plan with measurable outcomes, and having definitive completion dates for a project.

The first award was recently presented to the team that oversaw communications for last year’s peak delivery season.

More information, including nomination forms and instructions, are available on the Employee Engagement LiteBlue and Blue pages. If you have questions, email them to engagement@usps.gov.
